Reports to: CEO > Head of Technology

Should include the following but not limited to:
1. Set up the IT infrastructure:
  • Installing a network: Configuring routers, switches, and firewalls to connect devices and protect the network from unauthorized access.
  • Choosing hardware: Selecting appropriate computers, printers, servers, and storage devices based on the company's needs.
  • Selecting software: Choosing operating systems, productivity suites, email platforms, and other essential software.
2. Create user accounts and permissions:
  • Setting up accounts: Creating individual logins for each employee with unique usernames and secure passwords.
  • Assigning permissions: Granting access to specific files, folders, applications, and systems based on job roles and responsibilities.
  • Managing access control: Regularly reviewing and updating user permissions to maintain security and compliance.
3. Install and configure applications:
  • Installing software: Downloading, installing, and activating necessary software programs on company devices.
  • Configuring settings: Customizing software options to align with company policies and user needs.
  • Testing functionality: Ensuring applications operate correctly and integrate smoothly with other systems.
4. Train employees on how to use the technology:
  • Conducting training sessions: Providing hands-on instruction and guidance on using new software, hardware, and systems.
  • Creating documentation: Developing user manuals, tutorials, and FAQs for easy reference.
  • Offering ongoing support: Providing troubleshooting assistance and answering employee questions as needed.
5. Develop a disaster recovery plan:
  • Identifying critical data and systems: Determining which data and systems are essential for business operations.
  • Creating backup procedures: Establishing regular data backups to secure information and ensure recovery.
  • Planning for recovery: Developing a detailed plan for restoring systems and data in the event of a disaster.
6. Implement security measures:
  • Installing firewalls: Blocking unauthorized access to the network and protecting against external threats.
  • Deploying intrusion detection systems: Monitoring network activity for suspicious behavior and potential attacks.
  • Encrypting sensitive data: Protecting confidential information from unauthorized access or theft.
7. Establish ongoing support:
  • Providing help desk services: Handling employee inquiries and troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Maintaining systems and software: Performing updates, security patches, and regular maintenance.
  • Monitoring performance: Optimizing system performance and identifying potential problems.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Project Timelines: Ensure projects are delivered on time by tracking and meeting deadlines.
  • Budget Adherence: Keep projects within budget constraints and report on budget utilization.
  • Client Satisfaction: Measure client satisfaction through feedback and successful project delivery.
  • Team Productivity: Monitor team efficiency and productivity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Scope Management: Successfully manage and control project scope to avoid scope creep.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the delivered product meets quality standards and client expectations.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to project success.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Effectively communicate with stakeholders to keep them informed and engaged.

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as project management, business, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • 5 years+ of extensive experience in a specific IT field, with a deep understanding of relevant technologies.
  • Leadership experience, potentially overseeing teams or major projects.
  • Expertise in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Proven ability to design and implement complex IT solutions.
  • Involvement in strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Project Management Tools: Proficiency in tools like clickup, Jira, Trello, Asana, or for task management and collaboration.
  • Communication Tools: Familiarity with communication platforms such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, or similar tools to facilitate team communication.
  • Google Workspace tools: proficiency on google workspace tools like drive, sheets, docs, slides and calendars.
Technical Skills
  • Network administration: Expertise in setting up and managing networks, including configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Hardware installation and troubleshooting: Ability to install and troubleshoot hardware components like computers, printers, servers, and storage devices.
  • Software installation and configuration: Proficiency in installing, configuring, and managing various software applications, including operating systems, productivity suites, email clients, and security software.
  • Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Security implementation: Knowledge of security best practices and the ability to implement security measures like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and data encryption.
